Below please find country analyses for selected countries regarding online enrollment from overseas, specific to the University of Mississippi. Please note this table represents completed analyses for Academic Year 2020/21, and country analyses were prioritized based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, student population by location, degree program, graduate assistantships committed, and cost of analysis. Some countries are a “no” by default because we were not able to obtain an analysis of the country. If you have any questions about this information please contact OGE.
The information below is very general and applicable only to Academic Year 2020/21 for online enrollment overseas for undergraduates and graduates. Please contact OGE so that we can work together on future programs for students enrolling overseas as there are nuances by country.
Bank Accounts
We recognize that securing a US bank account is a challenge from outside of the United States. There are two options that may work for students but are dependent upon the student’s location:
- See eligible countries at the above link
While we have been in contact with large US banks that have branches abroad, there has not been success in finding additional options; however, students may want to visit a US bank branch within their country to speak with a representative in person.
Graduate Students
The Graduate School has created an alternative path to keep students engaged with UM should a student not be able to complete an assistantship remotely or secure a US bank account from outside the US. Please contact Dr. Annette Kluck, Dean of the Graduate School, for information on this option.
