International Collaboration Grant for Faculty

Purpose

  • To develop or enhance current international connections between UM faculty and their counterparts in academic/research institutions abroad with the hope that a focus on areas of mutual interest will lead to expanded international collaborations.

Eligibility

  • Open to all tenured and tenure-track faculty pursuing international research, collaboration, and technical assistance initiatives. While both populations are eligible, preference will be given to untenured tenure-track faculty.
  • To be eligible, faculty must identify and commit to making presentations, writing articles, and/or other scholarly activities as a result of the project enabled by the International Collaboration Grant, thus expanding UM’s global footprint.
  • Faculty members may not be granted the ICG in consecutive cycles though exceptions could be made depending on the availability of funds.

Student Organization Funds Request

Do you represent a student organization whose main activities involve international students, spreading knowledge about another country or culture, or creating meaningful interactions between international students and domestic students on the UM campus? If so, the Office of Global Engagement may provide funds for your activities.  Please submit a funding request through the Student Organization Funds Request Form.

Study Abroad Diversity Scholarship

The Study Abroad Office offers the Study Abroad Diversity Scholarship to UM students who are applying to a UM-approved program.  Applicants must have submitted an application to study abroad, meet the minimum requirements for study abroad, and complete two essays.

Global Engagement Emergency Fund

The purpose of the Global Engagement Emergency Fund is to provide funding to assist currently enrolled international students facing crises (including natural disasters) or hardships that require immediate one-time financial assistance.  The Senior International Officer (SIO) and Director of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) will make the determination of approval of funding and the amount of funding.  Awards typically will not exceed $500.  Contact the Office of Global Engagement at global@olemiss.edu for an application.
